Head Coach Karin Rice
Coach Rice has been playing volleyball for over 20 years! Originally from Castile, NY she is a graduate of Letchworth High School, Genesee Community College, & SUNY Brockport. She competed in volleyball at the high school, club, & collegiate levels on nationally ranked teams. Known as a "southpaw" she specializes in setter, right side, & libero instruction but loves teaching all aspects of the game!
After graduating from nursing school in 2013 she wanted to find a way to stay involved in athletics & the local volleyball community by sharing her passion and knowledge of the sport with others. She became an assistant coach with Perry High School & took over as Head Varsity Coach in 2020. In 2023 she helped lead Perry to its first Division Title in 14 years & was subsequently named 2023 LCAA Coach of the Year.
When Coach Rice isn't coaching or working as a nurse in the operating room, she loves to play beach volleyball, compete in triathlons, hike, ride horses, & spend time with her husband & family! Coach Rice can't wait to get the first club season with VOLT underway to continue to offer high quality volleyball instruction to youth in our community!

Head Coach Chelsie Rapone
Coach Hixenbaugh is currently the Varsity coach in Avon. In her previous years, she has been the JV coach in Avon and LeRoy. She coached 14U in LAVA last year as well. When LAVA dissolved, she wanted to see an opportunity still available for athletes around the area so she took on being a director/creator of VOLT. She is excited to continuously work with the youth to spread her passion for the sport.

Coach Sheffield has loved volleyball since she started playing at her alma mater in Attica, NY where she won sectionals! She also played on a travel team for Xtreme where she also found herself at Nationals. She continued playing on scholarship at a D2 college in PA at Clarion University. She continues to play in any way she can. She has played a variety of positions and loves to learn whatever she can to make each one better!
Coach Sheffield is currently a Spanish teacher a Cal-Mum CSD. Formerly, she has coached at Perry High School as well as Livonia CSD. She coached the Livonia 15Us travel team as well the past 2 years. With her transition as a teacher at Cal-Mum, she now helps coach and support the Cal-Mum Raiders. She is super excited to now transition over to the first season of VOLT to keep the competition and love of volleyball going for girls in the area.
Assistant Coach Cortney Bzduch
Coach Cortney has been coaching at Perry as the JV and varsity assistant for the past three years! Her vision for creating a successful and fun program has continued to drive her love for the sport. She is eager to help develop a competitive league for our players to continue to grow in!
Head Coach Steph Pullyblank
Coach Steph is currently the head JV Volleyball coach at Caledonia-Mumford and assists the varsity team. She has been the head JV coach since 2022 and became a head coach with LAVA that same year. Before her coaching days, Steph helped Cal-Mum with various volleyball camps and played beach, recreational and club volleyball herself. Coach Steph can’t wait to see what this season has in store!
